Setting Boundaries
Recognize the power of saying no. Establish clear limits to protect your time and energy. Learn to say no to commitments that don't serve your well-being and prioritize what truly matters to you.

Every day, as Black women leaders, you navigate a world that often undermines your experiences, overlooks your contributions, and questions your capabilities. At “Protecting the Souls of Black Women Leaders” we gather to celebrate the historical resilience of leaders like you who have consistently turned challenges into opportunities. Our goal is to provide essential tools and solutions to ensure these challenges do not become discouraging or depleting.
The relationship between Black women and wellness has been intricate and multifaceted. As leaders and change-makers at all levels, finding the time and space for genuine self-care has not always been easy.
We often prioritize others' needs over our own, but if we and our communities are to survive, it’s time to change that narrative. We're taking wellness and self-care to a new level, recognizing that self-care is a form of self-protection.
Let go of what doesn’t work and keep and retain what aligns with you.
Recognize the power of saying no. Establish clear limits to protect your time and energy. Learn to say no to commitments that don't serve your well-being and prioritize what truly matters to you.
Embrace self-compassion as a vital component of wellness. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you offer to others. Acknowledge your achievements, forgive your mistakes, and nurture your soul.
Commit to regular self-care routines that nurture your body, mind, and spirit. Whether it’s daily meditation, weekly yoga sessions, or setting aside time for reflection, consistency is key.
